Why Am I Doing This, Anyway?

Lately I've come to realize something. Through my cycles of activity and dormancy, I have made this site very raw, very vulnerable, and perhaps a bit too melancholy. I knew this would happen eventually, there's simply too much I want to say, and not a lot of it is cheerful. I wanted to fix this issue, to get ahead of it somehow, but I didn't know where to start...

But then I found a website by the name of BuryPink on Neocities. If you want to witness the polar opposite of my site's presentation, look no further. Garish gifs, blinking lights, and not a single grammatically-orthodox sentence in sight. I like it, though. It's kitsch, it's fun.

On BuryPink's site, there is an eye-wateringly long 100 entry questionnaire! Answering these questions is a marvelous way to lighten the mood, So that's exactly what I'm going to do. Here goes!

  3. opinions on musicals?

    4. I actually like musicals, much to my own chagrin. Maybe I'll share my favorites here someday.

    5. Cheese sticks. Keep me away from those.

  5. have u ever been in love?

    6. I've had crushes and flights of infatuation before, but nothing deep or meaningful as romantic love.

    7. That's gotta go to my main guy, Haunter! He's so cool.

    8. I don't main anyone strictly, but I love playing as Waluigi, Daisy, or ROB, if I can.

    9. Soldier! I can't aim for the life of me, so he's perfect.

  9. do you laugh at youtube poops?

    10. At a select few, yes, but those are rare to find. The vast majority of them don't pop me.

  10. are you listening to music right now?

    11. Yes, right now I'm listening to L.A. Is My Lady, which is a collaborative album from Frank Sinatra and Quincy Jones in 1984. It's great! Their styles mesh better than you'd think.

    12. My first instinct is to say trapezoid, but I think that's just because the name sounds cool.

    13. No, but I am coming around on those MBTI personality types. That's basicaly astrology for men, right?

  13. do you believe in the occult?

    14. Of course, I believe that stuff has dangerous and real power (through Satan, of course). But despite what Protestants would have you think, I don't practice the occult.

  14. opinions on vocaloid?

    15. I don't have many, I'm afraid. I'm not really tapped in to a lot of those japanophile scenes.

  15. would you ever want to be a rockstar?

    16. Absolutely not. The pressure, the temptations, and the sheer labor of it all would break me in half. The unfortunate reality is, I often fold my morals for way less than what rockstars get. I wouldn't have a chance in that life.

    17. Yes, I'm just very good at hiding it in real life.

  17. what is/was your favorite class in high school?

    18. Computer science, mostly because my teacher didn't care that I would emulate n64 games on my pc for half the class.

    20. Neither of them really send me. I guess Asuka, but I don't like Evangelion in general, so I don't really have a dog in that fight.

    22. Nah, I'm actually athiest.

    23. I don't have many, some nightcore songs are good but I rarely seek out the genre.

  23. did you go through any major phase? (emo, goth, weeaboo, etc)

    24. In high school, I went through a phase where I nigh-exclusively listened to music from the late 1920s - late 1950s. It was a very autistic time. But I did find a lot of great jazz. Vaporwave was my only window to music outside of that timeframe.

    25. Have you seen my Art page? No. And keep this under your hat, but I'm actually not good at writing, either.

    26. I crack my back and my knuckles frequently. Sometimes on purpose.

    27. If games like Ace Attorney count, then yes! I'm a huge mark for that series.

    28. No.

    29. Also no, but I try.

  29. most expensive thing you've bought?

    30. My new car, unless you count the worthless college degree I'm due to receive in a few month's time.

  30. opinions on cosplay?

    31. I think the scene has quickly gotten out of hand, and these days, a lot of it borders on illicit. I appreciate the effort of SFW cosplayers, though. Fallout power armor cosplay is GOATed.

  31. what's your most hated band/musician?

    32. I can't say that I've ever enjoyed Kendrick Lamar or Eminem that much. Also most "punk" music pisses me off.

  32. are you a dramatic person?

    33. I try not to be, but the urge is always there. Check my blog, you'll see what I mean.

    34. The chat app I use the most is Discord, and this emoji is the most used within my friend group. It's the Demoman from TF2 doing the "He's Right" Morgan Freeman meme pose. This emoji originally came from the Discord server of a project called Creators.tf, which is a whole can of worms that I won't get into. This is a great emoji though, feel free to take it.

    35. Certainly! More than a few documented miracles have been verified all throughout Church history! Give some a read, they're very interesting.

    36. Not even if it was a hot vampire chick. Sorry!

  36. do you have a celebrity crush?

    37. I might've, once upon a time. But I can't really look at any celebrity the same after Epstein.

  37. do you like snow?

    38. I adore it. But I don't have to shovel snow at the crack of dawn just to get to work, so maybe that's why snow has kept its magical property in my mind.

  38. were you really into greek mythology as a kid?

    39. Not any more than your average kid. I was way more into superheroes, cryptozoology, and aliens back then.

  39. what are some things you could competently deliver a speech on?

    40. My defense of Halloween from a traditional Catholic perspective, the importance of the subconscious in storytelling, and my stance on copyright law reform. Maybe I'll write some articles here about that. No promises!

    41. I feel like I used to be, but that muscle has atrophied since spellcheck became ubiquitous.

    43. No clue. I don't believe AGI is possible, but I am concerned that we will eventually create something that gets very close.

    45. I'm a devil that wants very badly to be an angel. Hopefully God will let me live long enough to achieve that.

    47. I actually do! I enjoy regular licorice but especially strawberry licorice. I might just get a pack of Twizzlers now that you mentioned it.

  48. what books did you like as a kid?

    49. I loved Frankenstein, that was the first chapter book I ever read. The Great Illustrated Classics series carried me through so much literature as a kid. Swiss Family Robinson, Gulliver's Travels, The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood, pretty much anything by Jules Verne and H.G. Wells, The Three Musketeers... I'm getting worked up and excited just remembering all those classics I love. I might add a page on this site talking about all my favorite books. Other than that, Captain Underpants inspired me to be a writer, and I loved any horror novel I could get my hands on. Goosebumps, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, etc. Man, I loved reading. Why did I stop?

    50. Not a single one. The musical gene passed me over. I've been told I can sing well, but I've never trained.

    51. I'm a pretty traditional guy, so nothing out of the ordinary. I'd let the DJ pick the soundtrack for the reception. As long as he doesn't blast Sexyy Red or something ridiculous like that, I'm fine.

    54. No. As a matter of fact, I've never even been outside of my country before.

    55. There's not enough paper in the world that could host a list that long. A very bad habit of mine is procrastination.

    58. Most of my pleasures are guilty, but Little Caesar's just hits different...

    59. I can't see how I would get to Heaven in either case, but I think I'll go with ghost. Maybe then I can be someone's Jacob Marley and urge them to change their ways, lest they end up like me.

    60. Ultimately, I think it's failure. That defines most of my actions in life, and even my relationship with God. It's not Hell that I fear, its the failure of achieving Heaven. Also wasps.

    61. I am a GROWN MAN! So no. My collection of plushies stays on the shelf.

    62. Watching livestreamers. How does a person sit in one place and spam emojis in a chat for 8 hours a day? Why do people gift so much money just to have their name read by a TTS machine? And the streamer's usually not doing anything but sitting at their desk. Who are these people?

    63. Regular beer tastes awful and hard liquors often taste how permanent marker smells. Not good. I do love cocktails though, especially tropical rum cocktails.

    64. Perhaps in my heart, but I rarely act on those feelings.

    65. Definitely sloth.

    66. My eyes. I get complimented on those a lot.

    67. No. I don't plan to, either.

    68. A few, but they were pretty short. Either I got a quick win, or I got rocked.

    69. Thrift stores, OfferUp sellers, anywhere I can find them really. I rarely shop online, though.

    70. Somewhere in the United States with all 4 seasons, reasonable tax laws, and far, far away from people.

    71. I think most magic (with a "c") are harmless sleight-of-hand. Magick (with a "k") is dangerous to your soul. Whether magick actually works is less relevant to me personally. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't, I don't care. The devil doesn't either. He just wants your soul.

    73. I say mopping. It's just tedious and there is a 90% chance someone will step on the spot you just mopped while it dries.

    74. They almost named me Bruce, after Bruce Lee. Or at least, that's what they told me. To this day I still don't know if they were joking.

    75. I think Clarabelle sounds nice, or maybe Valencia.

    76. Mama? I really couldn't tell you. They weren't anything special.

    78. I didn't have an internet connection at home until 2016.

    79. I don't miss any of the years from my childhood. I miss when the San Antonio Spurs were winning championships, though. However, they're doing pretty good right now, so I'm good.

    82. I use YouTube and BandCamp to find most of my music, and I play them with MusicBee or my native phone audio player. It's a simple life, but it works. And with no subscription services, to boot. I've also started a modest vinyl / CD collection.

    83. My friend group and I went to Las Vegas in 2024, that was the first time I've ever ventured outside my hometown. It was great. I plan to go again next year.

    84. Tortoises.

    85. For work, I use Edge. For surfing, I use Firefox. On my phone, I use Brave.

    87. No. I tried one once, and it tasted like battery acid. Not pleasant.

    88. I want to say no... But I have a confession to make. At one time during Covid, I foolishly dumped 500 DOLLARS ON TF2 UNBOXES... I know. You have every right to pelt tomatoes at me. I deserve it. And to add insult to injury, I didn't unbox a single unusual! It's over...

    89. Typically from 11PM - Midnight, unless I'm being a goober and staying up late. I try to get 6-9 hours of sleep a day. Anything more or less than that, and I'm toast.

    90. I used to shampoo every day, but I recently learned that practice actually damages your hair. Who knew? So now I shampoo every couple of days.

  90. would you download a car?

    91. YES.

  91. what was your favorite show as a kid?

    92. It had to be Justice League Unlimited. That show defined the Justice League for me, and really influenced my writing sensibilities to this day. Star Wars: The Clone Wars ranks high up there too. I wanted to be a Clone Trooper so bad as a kid.

    93. This Macho Man hat that I used for my 2024 Halloween costume.

    94. I feel like I had a stroke reading this question, but I think you're asking what I listen to when I'm feeling angsty. I typically throw on News At 11 when I'm feeling angsty about the state of the world.

    95. More than I'd like to admit.

  95. whats the goofiest thing you do when completely alone?

    96. Mongolian throat singing. It's pretty funny but also quite relaxing.

    100. I'm not really good at any video games, I prefer sandbox and single-player games. Planet Coaster, Fallout 4, Minecraft, you get the picture.
